To boost employment after the Spring Festival, Nansha is undergoing 31 job fairs throughout this March[previous report]. And it just wrapped up the largest fair at Nansha Wanda Palace recently on March 1st, on which 90 companies offered over 1100 posts.

Most of the attended companies were local based, covering a wide range of sectors, such as, manufacturing, service, finance, Internet and real estate. They offered over 80 different positions including those with low thresholds like waiters and factory operators, as well as with high requirements on professional skills as engineers and managers.

Roughly 1200 job seekers registered for entrance to the fair, and 325 of them reached preliminary confirmation with their potential employers.

The job fair was organized by the Nansha Street Office and supported by the local labor union, service center and a job-hunting website called goodjob. The fair was open to the public and free for both enterprises and seekers.

According to Guangzhou’s latest plan, Nansha will be the city’s sub center and play an active role in the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The district is rapidly expanded in scale with opportunities popping up.

Last year, more than 20 thousand enterprises were established in Nansha, and 338 of which were funded by overseas investors. Since the Nansha FTZ has been established in 2015, 41308 enterprises were newly founded in the district, which leads to the large demands of talents.

To boost employment and entrepreneurship, Nansha has implemented a series of supportive policies. For example, social insurance subsidies are granted to employers for ensuring stable employment, and to elderly workers for flexible employment.

The district’s employment situation remains stable by February 28. Demands for recruitment are mainly seen in industries as manufacturing, services and property management. The average salary is about 3500-4500 yuan, which is basically the same as last year. According to Nansha Employment Center, more than 90% of the job vacancies will be filled after the Spring Festival.
