Pan Yuzhang, Deputy Direct of the Management Committee of Nansha Free Trade Zone, introduced Nansha had adopted a series of policies and measures to speed up the whole import-export business process.

“Nansha’s cross-border e-commerce has been rapidly growing since 2014,” said Pan Yuzhang, “by the end of 2017, 1336 related enterprise has been registered in the district. And the value of import reached about 7 billion yuan, accounting for over 80 percent of the total value in Guangzhou.”

The forum also invited experts from key universities to give better insights and suggestions to the cross-border e-commerce industry in Nansha district.

Zhang Weizhi, Head of Zhejiang University’s Off-site Economy Institute, said one of the main factors to facilitate cross-border trading was to digitalize all the import-export information and let the information flow among the ‘single windows’ of different countries.

“Nansha is now providing excellent ‘single window’ services through which people can complete various applications,” said Zhang Weizhi, “but to develop cross-border commerce, information should be more easily flow from Nansha’s single window to the single windows of other countries around the world.”
