The inauguration ceremony of a dual system vocational education group that focuses on intelligent manufacturing was held at Shenzhen Polytechnic in Nanshan District on Wednesday, with officials from national and municipal education departments in attendance.
The vocational education group is jointly led by Shenzhen Polytechnic and an education investment company named Lianshuo Education with the aim of providing students with both theoretical studies and practical training.
“Corporations are going to take a significant role in modern vocational education, and forming education groups is a step in the direction of incorporating enterprises in education,” said Liu Baoming, deputy director of Vocational Education Institution under the Ministry of Education.
Liu said that Shenzhen Polytechnic joining hands with an education investment enterprise to set up the Intelligent Manufacturing Dual System Vocational Educational Group is a significant event, as it represents a prompt response to the national strategy of “Made in China 2025,” which aims to enhance the nation’s intelligent manufacturing.
The education group is doing groundbreaking work in the education sector in China, said Chen Qiuming, Party chief of Shenzhen Polytechnic. Chen said the education group will endeavor to become a role model for other cities and vocational education institutions.
An intelligent manufacturing research center was also set up at Shenzhen Polytechnic on Wednesday.
