Consulate General of the State of Qatar celebrates National Day in Guangzhou

On December 11, Consulate General of the State of Qatar in Guangzhou held an official reception in Four Seasons Hotel to celebrate the 2017 Qatar National Day.

In 2016, trade volume between Guangdong and Qatar reached USD 975 million with an increase of 19.9%, in which import from Qatar to Guangdong registered in increase of about 123%. From the first ten months of 2017, the trade volume reached to USD 917 million, with an increase of 12.77%.

“Since establishing diplomatic relations in 1988, China and Qatar have been enjoying smooth development in bilateral ties,” said by Zhang Aijun, Deputy Secretary-General of the People’s Government of Guangdong. “Guangdong attaches importance to cooperate with Qatar. In the future, both parties can further cooperation and exchanges in economic and trade, energy, infrastructure, culture and education among others.”

According to Mr. Ali Ghanem A.F. Al-Hajri, Consul General of Qatar in Guangzhou, the opening of the Consulate General of Qatar in Guangzhou in late 2015, helps to develop political relations, and facilitate economic and to introduce greater and clearer investment opportunities for Chinese companies in Qatar.

Mr. Ali Ghanem A.F. Al-Hajri also pointed out the importance of the Belt and Road Initiative, which is a comprehensive solution to the advancement of the humanity in all aspects.
