The secretariat of Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) held a symposium at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Guangzhou on Dec 8 to promote Asian cooperation and build a community with a shared future.
More than 150 experts, government officials and representatives of business organizations from 30 Asian countries, including Japan, Indonesia, Qatar and Sri Lanka, attended the event. ACD is devoted to promoting economic integration in Asia, developing an open and inclusive market and further linking up the common interests, according to Bundit Limschoon, secretary-general of ACD.
The focus of ACD will be placed on the linkage and coordination in regional supply-side, supply chain and value chain, increasing the competitiveness of Asian enterprises in the global market, and promoting the economic synergy and sustained economic growth in Asian countries, he said.
China has been firm in pushing forward the process of Asian integration and ACD has an irreplaceable role in the process, said Chen Mingming, a veteran Chinese diplomat.
