1180 drones lit up Guangzhou's night sky celebrating the Fortune Global Forum

.

On Thursday night, a formation of 1180 drones performed a light show over Haixinsha Guangzhou, celebrating the arrival of the 2017 Fortune Global Forum in innovative fashion.

The forum guests and audiences were amazed and applauded the constantly changing drone formations ranging from large Chinese characters such as "财富" (meaning Fortune), a map of China, and more.

The drones were created by a Guangzhou-based brand, Ehang, and all of them were controlled by just one engineer with a computer.

"The light show was a world first; to have so many drones in sky at one time," said Shi Zheyuan, the chairman of EHang Egret.

Actually, the previous world record for a UAV formation was set on the Chinese Lantern Festival February 11th, 2017, with a ‘Meteor Sky’ 1000 drone light show that combined traditional Chinese culture, with original music, and innovative technology.

The following photos show some highlights from Yesterday's show.
