Today on November 13, Nansha held a talent conference and announced that a large number of high-end talents had settled in the district. These talents include a Nobel laureate, 15 experts within the national Recruitment Program of Global Experts and over 2300 talents in the key sectors for development.

Long Yongtu, former Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, said when drafting the talent strategies, Nansha should understand the strengths and weaknesses of itself as well as all the cities in the Bay Area, so that it could complement each other and avoid cutthroat competition.

“Well developed industries are the main factor to attract talents,” said Long Yongtu, “Nansha can introduce the industries that are now facing enormous opportunities like finance, while globalizing its competitive industries, such as auto industry and port logistics.”

“They will pay attention to transportation, education and whether it’s easy to hire a nanny,” said David Zweig, “and then a transparent government and appreciable incentives, which I think Nansha is doing great from this sense.”
