Orchestral, folk, jazz, pop, chamber music and more... starting from the end of Oct. Ersha Island will be temporarily transformed into Guangzhou’s premiere outdoor music venue. The 2017 Ersha Island Outdoor Concert Season will present ten weekend concerts in a row on Ersha Island from 4:00-5:20 pm every Saturday or Sunday afternoon from Oct. 28 to Dec. 30.

A number of well regarded ensembles will perform during this event, including the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, Guangzhou’s Youth Orchestra, the Fang Jinlong and China Flowers folk music girl band, the Guangdong Song and Dance Ensemble, and Meizhou’s Mountain Song Troupe.

The first concert, featuring the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra, will be staged on the lawn in front of Guangdong Xinghai Performing Arts Group building on Ersha Island at 4 pm on Oct. 28.

As usual, the 2017 Ersha Island Outdoor Concert Season is open to the public for free. A total of 1000 seats will be placed in the inside of the venue.

Guangzhouers can obtain free tickets in advance from several official WeChat accounts such as ‘广州越秀发布’, ‘广州越秀文体’, and ‘网演’ (please search for these accounts on WeChat). Some tickets will also be made available on the day at the venue.

You can also watch this year’s concerts via livestream online (www.wycn.com). Therefore, even if you can’t snap up a ticket or aren’t in Guangzhou, you still can enjoy this musical mini-festival.
