Bright Scholar Education Group, one of the largest K-12 school operators in China, in cooperation with the U.S. Consulate General Guangzhou and LAC Tour, successfully hosted the 2017 China Liberal Arts College Tour from August 19th-20th.
Admissions officers from 17 U.S. top liberal arts colleges gathered in Guangdong Country Garden School in order to showcase their top global colleges to students and parents in southern China.
The 2-day event attracted over 500 attendees and over 30 media representatives from different cities. Commercial officers from the U.S. Consulate-General Guangzhou, founders of LAC Tour Organization, top executives from Bright Scholar Education Group and representatives of the liberal arts colleges introduced the quality education opportunities in the US, and shared critical thinking about the scope of international education in China.

The occasion marked the first time that admissions officers from this range of prestigious colleges have gathered in Guangdong and provided public presentations and info-sessions. It enabled students who are eager for overseas high-quality education to get a deeper understanding on the courses and the unique culture of each college, and up-to-date college application information.
The face-to-face communication with the admissions officers further helped the students to discover the college that best fits his/her self-development and to eliminate any trepidation they may have held prior to application commencement.

This tour was the only opportunity for interview in southern China. Accordingly, students from Guangzhou, Foshan and as far afield as Hunan Province made their trip to the school to interview directly with members of the colleges that they applied for.
“It offered me a great opportunity to know more about the college, and to show who I am and what makes me unique and qualified to the school right in front of the admissions officer. We got to know a little bit about each other to see if we were perfectly matched,” an attendee of Grade 12 commented.
