A total of six thematic exhibition halls will be set up for the Intellectual Property Rights Trading Fair including the exhibition hall for enterprises' intellectual property rights and exhibition hall for intellectual properties of universities and research institutions.

The Zhujiang Forum will center on the topic of "innovative development and intellectual property" and government officials, managers of enterprises and renowned scholars will be invited to deliver speeches.

Moreover, a range of activities including intellectual property rights auctions, new product releases and intellectual property innovation and entrepreneurship competitions will be held during the expo.

Guangdong is a hotspot for intellectual property rights and ranks first in China in terms of the comprehensive development index for intellectual property. By the end of June, the total amount of patents filed in Guangdong reached nearly 190,000.

"The expo is due to be an indicator of Guangdong's prosperous intellectual property undertakings and we'd like to showcase Guangdong's innovative resources and attract people to come to Guangdong to use the intellectual properties and transform them into scientific and technological achievements," Ma added.
