Two Guangdong-based companies make it to Fortune Global 500 list

The Fortune Global 500 list for 2017 was released last night. The latest list welcomes 10 Chinese companies that have made it to the list for the first time. Among the 10 newly listed Chinese members are two Guangdong-based companies, including Tecent, a leading provider of Internet value added services and the company behind WeChat, as well as Country Garden, one of China's leading integrated property developers.

The Fortune Global 500, also known as Global 500, is an annual ranking of the top 500 corporations worldwide as measured by revenue. Tecent made it with $21.9 billion and Country Garden with $23 billion.
