An exhibition titled “New Looks of National Quintessence Chinese Cloisonne” is being held at the Guangzhou Museum. Featuring about 80 cloisonne artworks from Guangzhou Museum and Hebei’s Langfang Museum, the exhibition will last until October 22, 2017.

Chinese cloisonne technique is a centuries-old homegrown artistic skill listed as China’s national intangible heritage in 2006. In this exhibition, visitors can get a glimpse of the history, production, style, charm and modern technique innovation of the cloisonne from the Ming Dynasty to modern times.

An opening ceremony of the exhibition was held at the Guangzhou Museum on July 18. Yang Zhifeng, Guangdong’s senior craft master and inheritor of Guangzhou enamel, attended the ceremony and showed the audience how to make Guangzhou enamel.

Among the audience there were AIESEC international volunteers who also took part in the activity to learn cloisonne enamel technique from Yang Zhifeng. It’s worth mentioning that AIESEC international volunteers were awarded as one of Chinese top 10 museum volunteer stars (groups) in 2016.
