According to Mr. Pedro Barreto Ranciaro, an International Cooperation Advisor from Brazil, "I think Guangzhou is a big city with a lot of people, and it is very amazing to see the preserved environment in the old part of the city with trees and lakes.' Besides, he felt good about the local Cantonese food.
"It is very important to do this trip," Pedro added. Normally, most people in Brazil only know about Beijing of China, while people can be aware of how great of the city (Guangzhou) is and know its economic power from the trip.
Since 2007, Guangdong and Sao Paolo have signed many MOUs. "We will try to improve the exchanges in many areas such innovation industries, new technologies and start-ups," said Pedro.
On June 13, the 14 representatives had a brainstorm with departments of Guangdong provincial government, foreign affairs offices of municipal governments and medias on promoting more cooperation and exchanges in different sectors under the agreement of sister provinces (states).
In order to have an overall understanding of Guangdong, they will visit Zhongshan, Dongguan and Shenzhen in the next few days.
