At the reach of Pearl River between the north gate square of Sun Yat-sun University and Guangzhou Bridge, the 2017 Guangzhou International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament was ongoing among over 100 dragon boat teams from five continents.

The domestic dragon boat teams are from Guangzhou, Foshan, Dongguan, Qingyuan, Huizhou, Zhaoqing, Jieyang, Zhuhai, Shunde, etc. And the overseas teams mainly come from Canada, USA, Singapore, etc. There are 12 traditional dragon boats, 83 standard dragon boats, 28 colored dragon boats, and 7 parade dragon boats. Over 5000 athletes attended the tournament.
