Sun Zhengcai was elected secretary of Chongqing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Wednesday.
Sun was elected at the first plenary session of the fifth CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee.
Sun, born in September 1963, has been Party chief of Chongqing since November 2012.
At the session, Zhang Guoqing and Tang Liangzhi were elected deputy secretaries of the CPC Chongqing Municipal Committee.
