At least 11 injured in blast in Manila

At least 11 people were injured in an explosion along a major road in Manila City on Friday night, police and news reports have said.

The blast occurred in Quiapo district shortly before 11 p.m. local time on Friday and two of those injured were reportedly in critical condition, the police said.

The police were investigating the explosion that occurred on the eve of the ASEAN leaders summit that will take place later Saturday.

It was not immediately known what caused the blast. The police said the blast has nothing to do with the summit.
