Reading theme tram offers exclusive book lists in Guangzhou

It is overcast and rainy in Guangzhou lately, but there is always something nice and refreshing in town, such as the distinctive bookstores in Guangzhou we mentioned before, and the newly launched reading theme tram.

The reading theme tram 4.0 “My Family’s Study” starts operation today (April 25) and will run for three months with over 20 round trips per day.

The four carriages are decorated as “Dad’s Study”, “Mom’s Study”, “Kid’s Study” and “Nature’s Study” respectively.

Kid’s Study is an interesting world with clouds, starry sky and universe, which is an encouragement to kids’ imagination.

Mom’s Study is pink and warm, adorned with flowers and beautiful female figures, where moms can happily enjoy reading after work and household duties.

Dad’s Study shows wisdom, profoundness and resolution, with images of ocean, island and shark.

Nature’s Study is decorated with natural scenes, such as big trees, green grassland and blooming flowers, symbolizing that nature is like a book, containing fund of knowledge, waiting for us to explore.

In order to provide passengers with a joyful 7.7-kilometer tram trip, Haizhu District Library and several bookstores prepare exclusive book lists to all four carriages. Passengers only need to scan the QR codes in the carriages and will get the book lists specially made for each carriage. Each book list contains names and introduction of the specially recommended books. Some are linked to the webpages of the bookstores where books can be purchased online.

Besides, passengers who collect all four fragrance stickers in the carriages and send pictures to WeChat account of “广州有轨电车”, will stand chances to custom-tailor their own perfume at Guangzhou Metro Museum.
