Guangzhou promote Fortune Global Forum in Tokyo

Today (April 25), Guangzhou, the host city of the 2017 Fortune Global Forum, held a promotion seminar in Tokyo, inviting top Japanese companies to join the forum. Before that Guangzhou has launched several roadshows in Davos, Paris, New York and Washington D.C..

Cai Chaolin, Guangzhou Vice Mayor, delivered a keynote speech on the investment and business environment in Guangzhou. Themed as “Opening and Innovation”, the 2017 Fortune Global Forum hopes to join hands with enterpreneurs from home and aboard, and explore ways to energize global economy and bring more space to investors from worldwide.

Cai introduced that Guangzhou would spare no efforts to organize this event and present Guangzhou and also China to the world. He warmly welcomed Japanese enterperuers to take part in the forum.

Over 150 representatives from top 500 Japanese companies, industrial leaders, Chinese Embassy in Japan, Fortune Magazine, Japan External Trade Organization as well as Guangzhou companies participated the promotion seminar.

It is reported that the number of Japanese tops the expats living in Guangzhou. Japan has been Guangdong’s one key trade partner. Statistics show that the trade turnover between Guangzhou and Japan has reached 84.68 billion RMB in 2016, increasing 12.5% year on year. By the end of 2016, the number of Japanese-invested companies in Guangzhou has reached 626 in total, with the FDI of 5.24 billion US Dollar. Meanwhile, 16 Guangzhou-invested companies has set up in Japan, with a total investment of 6.56 million US Dollar.

Three automobile giants in Japan -- Honda, Toyota and Nissan, all set up factories in Guangzhou. Top Japanese companies such as HITACHI, DENSO, Mizuho, Aeon and Panasonic have witnessed their business prosperously developed in Guangzhou.
