Guangzhou’s “black tech” catch eyes at Canton Fair

Guangzhou’s new technology wows purchasers and visitors during the first phase of 121st Canton Fair.

“Easy Trans” is an instant interpreter newly developed by iFLYTEK, a Guangzhou-based information technology company. User speaks Chinese to the voice tube and then English translation is voiced through microphone. According to iFLYTEK, when the “Easy Trans” was introduced to the market, the first batch of products was sold out within a short time.

An average-looking LED splicing screen launched by LKK, a product design company, has won many top awards of international industrial design. The technology applied in this LED is speedy combination with the aid of magnet adsorption, which sharply reduces the splicing time of LED screens. It is reported that the annual sales of the LED has reached RMB 400 million (USD 58.16 million).

High-tech products like these can be found everywhere at the 121st Canton Fair.

It is learned that Guangzhou is focusing on developing three strategic emerging industries, namely Information Technology/Information Communication Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Biopharmaceutical (IAB).

At present, the representative of new generation IT industry is Foxconn’s 10.5-generation 8K displays project, which will be put into mass production in 2019 as estimated and looking for an annual output value of RMB 92 billion (USD 1.3 billion).

The output of Artificial Intelligence industry in Guangzhou is about RMB 50 billion (USD 7.3 billion), and the representative enterprises include Ehang, iFLYTEK, Guangzhou CNC Equipment Co. Ltd. and Guangzhou Start To Sail Industrial Robot Co., Ltd.

Biopharmaceutical industry also witnesses an output of about RMB 40 billion (USD 5.8 billion), with BeiGene and GE Healthcare as representative firms.

Thus, we can expect more and more surprising high-tech products at Canton Fair.
