Guangdong police dealt with 48 cases for violating airport security

In the past half a month, Baiyun Airport police has dealt with 48 cases in violation of law, detained 5 people involve and fined 28 people, Airport Public Security Bureau of Guangdong Provincial Public Security announced.

The Airport Public Security Bureau has worked out a series of measures to provide better service for passengers. For example, helping passengers with applying for provisional identification, strengthening measures on public security and severely dealing with illegal acts including bringing dangerous goods, using others' identification, smoking or using telephone on the plane.

Guangdong police introduced that on March 31, a foreign passenger was detained for 5 days for he/she was found smoking in the restroom on a plane from Pairs to Guangzhou, which triggered the alarm and panic among the rest passengers.

It is learned that passengers who go aboard with poisonous, explosive or other dangerous items, will be fined no more than 5,000 RMB. Passengers who disturb navigation system via using electronic devices, will be detained no more than 5 days.

The Bureau also calls for participation of every passenger and work together to enhance airport security.
