Guangzhou-Qingyuan Intercity Railway, also known as the Guangqing Intercity Railway, is expected to complete its first section starting from Guangzhou North Railway to Qingyuan City this year. By then, it will take only 25 minutes from Huadu district, Guangzhou, to Qingyuan.
The second section, which is still under planning, will pass Guangzhou North Railway Station, Guangzhou Railway Station, Qingyuan TOD Station and Qingyuan Station of Beijing-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway.
The second section will link Qingyuan with Guangzhou’s city downtown by a 40-minute train ride.
Meanwhile, the government is also planning a direct metro connection between Guangzhou and Qingyuan.
15 minutes from GZ Railway Station to airport
An expressway between Guangzhou Railway Station and Baiyun Airport is to be constructed soon, which will reduce the drive between the two transport hubs by half from 30 minutes to 15 minutes.
The expressway will strengthen contact between the east and the west of Huadu district. It is scheduled for completion by 2019.
