National legislators started to deliberate the government work report yesterday. Guangdong delegates praised the report as inspiring for Guangdong's work in 2017.

Hu Chunhua, the Party chief of Guangdong Province, said that supply-side structural reform and maintaining stable growth will be Guangdong’s main themes of development this year.

More specifically, Hu said, Guangdong will continue the upgrading of its real economy through sharpen its edge of creativity, so as to build the province the national innovation center for technology-related industries. New technologies and new industries will keep popping up here, acting as major engines for development.

Ma Xingrui, Guangdong Governor, said that this year, the province will make greater efforts to develop eastern, western and northern regions of the province.

Li Yumei, the Director of Standing Committee of Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress, introduced that next step Guangdong Provincial People’s Congress would improve supervision on government budgets and make sure the funds are effectively and efficiently used.
