Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge to complete in April 2017

Engineers have successfully installed the E29 sinking pipeline after 27-hour continuous work, leaving 183 meters to fully connect the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge by April this year.

With a length of 55 kilometers, the Hong Kong- Zhuhai- Macau Bridge is expected to become world's longest sea bridge when finished by the end of 2017. It has been hailed by the Guardian newspaper as "one of the seven modern wonders in the world."

The project includes a 6.7-km underwater tunnel and a 22.9-km overwater bridge. By far, the overwater section and 5.481-km of the underwater tunnel have been completed.

Once completed, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge is believed to boost the cooperation among the Pearl River Delta Bay Area (PRDBA) which includes 9 cities of the Pearl River Delta (PRD), Hong Kong and Macao. And it will also present another option for travel between Hong Kong, Macau and the mainland.
