Zhuhai's consumer price index (CPI) grew 1.9 percent in 2016 year on year, as China's CPI grew 2.0 percent and the whole of Guangdong Province grew 2.3 percent last year, Zhuhai Daily reported.
House price increases contributed the most to the CPI growth. A 5.1 percent increase in house prices contributed 1.22 percent of the CPI growth in Zhuhai.
The rising food price also contributed greatly to the CPI growth, with vegetable prices growing 9.5 percent and the price of pork growing at 16.7 percent.
The price for transport and telecommunications decreased by 6.2 percent, contributing to a 0.89 percent decrease inthe CPI.
