Tax exemptions for rental housing
The General Office of the People's Government of Guangdong Province released a regulation on January 23 aimed at developing the province’s housing rental market. The measure involves tax preference policies. The added-value tax will be eliminated for landlords who have rental income below 30,000 yuan per month and individual income tax will be halved by the end of 2017.
Gaokao application
Those who fail to apply for Gaokao, the national college entrance examinations at the set time can apply for it again from February 15 to 20 as long as they meet the requirements to take the exam, according to the Education Examinations Authority of Guangdong Province.
New functions for social security card
A nationwide all-in-one social security card will be put in place in 2017. Apart from the new function that it can be used outside the city where it was issued, it can also work as an ID card, bank card, transit card and library card. Also, people can use the card to purchase commercial insurance and deal with formalities for going abroad, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People’s Republic of China.

Well-being for women workers
Women who have to work standing for more than four hours a day should be allowed to have a rest during the menstrual period . Those who have been pregnant for more than seven months are entitled to one hour from their daily work time to have a break and also a maternity leave of 98 days. And those who are in the suckling period can have an hour a day to nurse the baby .
"custom-made” family doctor services
People are able to choose family doctor services based on their own demands. For instance, patients with diabetes can order a service package designed especially for diabetics. They will be provided with one-to-one personalized service, according to an implementation plan for family doctor services released by the People's Government of Guangdong Province.
