In 2016, Guangzhou's air quality tops in the country's central cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chongqing. The city's PM2.5 levels averaged 36 micrograms per cubic meter last year, down 7.7% year-on-year.
Actually, Guangzhou's PM 2.5 levels decline 17 micrograms per cubic meter since 2013.
It is said that the improvement of air quality is due to Guangzhou keeps the prevention of air contamination and the adjustment of its economic structure.
