From Jan. 24 to Feb. 11, 2017, various activities will be held in Guangzhou to celebrate the Spring Festival as well as help people with different cultural backgrounds learn more about Guangzhou. These celebration activities include folk performances, luminal art, theme flower shows, city carnival, intangible cultural heritage shows and etc.
Traditional flower fairs for Spring Festival
Time: 8:30 am, Jan. 25, 2017 to 2:00 am, Jan. 28, 2017
Avenue: Flower fairs in 11 districts
There will be flowers and plants, potted tangerines, volunteering, theme post offices. Besides, calligraphers will be invited to write Spring Festival couplets for citizens.
Light Concert at Huacheng Square
Time: 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm from Jan. 24 to Feb. 11, 2017
Avenue: Canton Tower, Huacheng Square and along Pearl River
The Light Concert will be centered on Canton Tower and make scenery along Pearl River and the new axis of the city as the background. Tourists can also admire auspicious trees, landscape with peach blossom, and parterres with flower fair logos.
Invitation for foreign guests to spend Spring Festival with local family
Twenty groups of families, friends or lovers from home and abroad are welcomed to participate in this activity. This activity aims at helping people with different cultures and backgrounds communicate with each other, deepening their friendship, making more people learn about and fall in love with Guangzhou.

Theme flower shows in Yuntai Garden and Baiyun Mountain
Time: Jan. 23, 2017 to Mar. 5, 2017
Avenue: Yuntai Garden, Baiyun Mountain
Yuntai Garden will make tulip as its theme flower, while Baiyun Mountain will focus on peach blossom and rape flower. 3D flower art, gardening technique and greenhouse are employed to create spring atmosphere.
Floating flower fair at Litchi Bay
Time: Jan. 21, 2017 to Jan. 27, 2017
Avenue: Litchi Bay and Litchi Bay Garden
Litchi Bay flower fair will be held on the water. It will allow tourists to travel between land and water freely. Tourists can also enjoy dance performances at the same time.
