American Chamber of Commerce in South China (AmCham South China) announced details of its annual charity project on 1st Dec. Connected with enterprises and organizations, the project devotes to aiding sick orphans and improving the poor situation in Wuxin Village of Meizhou.
‘Cooperating with the Guangzhou Women and Children’s Medical Center, our project has saved more than 1 thousand orphans’ lives,’ said Dr. Harley Seyedin, AmCham South China President, ‘we help these sick orphans recover and reunion with their family through covering operation and medical fees.’
Besides, the project has also successfully helped 3 villages live out of poverty. ‘We’re not just sending materials and medical care services,’ said Dr. Seyedin, ‘but introducing investors who are willing to invest in and benefit the villages in a long term.’ For example, they helped increase the tax income of a far village from RMB 11,000 to over RMB 100,000 in previous projects.
