“Where is the shark? Can anyone help me to point it out?”
“I know, I know, the shark is over there.”
“Wow, crocodiles also go to dentist!” A group of kids sat in rows, listening with round eyes to fantasies that have a 7 hours time difference from China.
It was in a bookstore of Guangzhou, on November 22. Anna Fiske, a famous children literature writer from Nordic Europe, brought to Guangzhou her latest story collection, Hello! World, which is so popular that can be found in bookcases of almost every child in Norway.

Without curiosity and imagination, we cant’ see anything
When little Tommy is drifting on the Atlantic himself, a hammerhead from another ocean is dreaming of opening a cinema on the seabed. On other side of the world, a witch with a black car is considering how to find an ideal house in a strange town and moreover, how to remove locals’ prejudice against her.
All stories above comes from Hello! World, a collection of five books, containing 500 adventurous stories developed by time zone on the Earth, sea, planet, town and under the ground. Each book has six major characters, who have rather unique characteristics and identities.
Anna said that her creation started from her curiosity about the world. “When I was a kid, I had a problem to sleep. I lay in my bed, thinking what was happening in the whole world. I thought that people in China might have woken up. And I felt I became smaller and smaller.”

For her, imagination was a tool for exploring the world, even places she hadn’t been to. “If you use it, it will become stronger and stronger just like muscle. But if you don’t use it, it will fall down, and we can’t see anything.”
