Typhoon Megi is approaching the coastal areas of Guangdong and Fujian! It is probably to land in southern Fujian tonight (September 27) or tomorrow morning (September 28). Eastern and Northern Guangdong will be affected greatly with heavy rain and strong wind.
China Meteorological Administration has issued a yellow alert of typhoon and rainstorm, which is the third severe alert on a five-color scale.
Megi is predicted to travel cross Guangdong from east to west after landing. Guangdong Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters has informed regions in Guangdong on Sunday to strengthen the alert and prevention of strong wind and follow-up heavy rain and secondary disasters.
Chaozhou in the eastern Guangdong is expected to meet strong wind over 6 to 7 on Tuesday night. Chaozhou Meteorological Service has started a level-III emergency respond of meteorological disasters (typhoon) on Monday, and launched blue alert on 8:34 Tuesday.
