The Zhuhai Hengqin Local Taxation Bureau independently developed the country's first self-service remote visual taxation service terminal V-Tax and put it into operation on July 19, 2016.
"The taxation service terminal V-Tax is exactly the same as the service at the window. All we need for the tax declaration is scanning, a signature and fingerprinting. I can also have a video conversation with the staff. I hear that Hengqin's real estate business can be handled like this in Macao in the future. How wonderful!" stressed Miss Li from Macao, who bought a flat in Hengqin.
"The V-Tax is an achievement of the country's "Internet + tax" innovation plan. In the past, people must come to the reception desk for tax services. Nowadays, they needn't do that. Also, the PC version and mobile version of V-Tax will soon be launched. At that time, cross-border, inter-provincial, inter-city and inter-district tax services can be realized. This will be an example that can be followed by other cities in China," stressed an official from the Zhuhai Hengqin Local Taxation Bureau.
It is understood that V-Tax mixes remote desktop services and real-time text communication technologies, together with voice and video communications. V-Tax is designed to achieve a full coverage of the window tax business. 509 types of daily tax services have been included on V-Tax, covering real estate transactions, social security registration and contract tax concessions. Meanwhile, electronic data sharing and one-key imports can be done on V-Tax. As form filling can be avoided, the efficiency of taxation services can also be increased by more than 80 percent.
