Guangdong’s foreign trade rebounded in the second Quarter of 2016. The import and export increased by 1.6 percent year on year, with import up 2.4 percent and export up 0.3 percent.
On July 13th, Guangdong branch of the General Administration of Customs (GAC) has released the latest statistics about Guangdong’s import and export.
Though Guangdong’s import and export saw increase in Q2, it suffered a 0.9 percent drop in the first six months year on year. The drop is mainly due to the import decrease of 3.1 percent while the export went up only 0.5 percent.
An unnamed official from Guangdong Provincial Department of Commerce introduced that Guangdong’s foreign trade is taking a turn for the better, with a series of facilitated polices released, even though China's exports may face "relatively big downward pressure" in the third quarter as global demand looks set to remain sluggish.
