A shopping mall in the Qianhai Free Trade Zone opened yesterday, bringing famous Hong Kong brands to Shenzhen.
The mall, called CTF Hoko Mall, will have more than 20 well-known chain stores, including popular cosmetics shop SASA, maternity shops and jewelry stores. The shopping center will have Hong Kong-style management.
The 11,000-square-meter mall is environmentally friendly. It took the Hong Kong jewelry brand Chow Tai Fook only four months to open the shopping mall after winning the bid to manage it.
Customers can purchase products online and offline. Only some of the products are available at the mall because most of the products are bonded goods and need to be processed by customs.
Customers can try the products at the mall and scan a QR code to purchase products. The items will be delivered to customers in about two days.
“The product prices can be the same or even cheaper than those in Hong Kong because all daily necessities and food under 500 yuan (US$78.15) will be duty-free,” said the mall’s general manager, surnamed Hong.
“We will monitor the prices and warn the customers if the prices are much higher than normal,” said Chen Shichang, the executive director of Chow Tai Fook Jewelry.
The shopping area that opened yesterday is the first phase construction at the mall. The second phase of construction has already started and is expected to be finished in April next year.
