Pakistani Shaheen Air (NL) announced that it will launch a new route from Lahore to Guangzhou from 1st Nov. It is the first direct flight from the southern China to Pakistan. It is also the 5th new international airline in Baiyun Airport this year.
This new airline would be carried by Air Bus A330 three times per week. It departs from Guangzhou at 22:05 (GMT +8:00) and would arrive Lahore at 01:05 (GMT +5:00) every Tue, Thu, and Sun.
It said that the Lahore-Guangzhou line stimulated by the national “One belt one road” Initiative. The airline would strengthen the trade between China and Pakistan.
Mujtaba Rizvi, the Senior Manager from Shaheen Air,said that it took ten more hours from Guangzhou to Pakistan with stopovers in the past. Now, it will only takes 5-6 hours with direct flights.
Lahore is the cultural and art center of Pakistan, and has an history more than 2000 years. The prominent monk Xuan Zhuang of Tang Dynasty visited this city in AD 630.
