Participators in 118th Canton Fair has faced great pressures, however, now they are enthusiastic to join a new exporting trend, tourism shopping, and hope it could help attract more overseas buyers and orders.
Tourism shopping, is not a new way of export trade. When foreign tourists or overseas buyers purchase goods under the value of 50000 USD, they can export them without tariffs or export licenses.
Low costs and convenient customer clearance
Due to its low costs, short processing period and convenient customer clearance, more overseas buyers prefer this way. According to the latest statistics, the export turnover of tourism shopping in Guangdong has reached 13.01 billion USD from January to August of 2015, much more than that of cross-border E-commerce which is 860 million USD at the same period.
Usually overseas buyers want to choose this export way when it comes to toys, clothes, decorations, art-ware and crafts, which happens to be the main exhibition products in Phase 2 and Phase 3 of 118th Canton Fair. Those foreign buyers are mainly from countries of ASEAN, Middle East, and Africa, which are also the main buyers in Canton Fair.
“We just get a big order today.” Zhou Hong, the general manager of China Electronics Zhuhai Company, introduced that her company is among the first group of companies piloting exporting of tourism shopping products.
As a senior foreign trader, Zhou thinks highly of tourism shopping as a main way of export, and predicts that it may bring hundreds of thousands of USD of export turnover every day in future.
