The 2nd Maritime Silk Road International Expo kicks off today (October 29th) at International Exhibition Hall in Houjie Town, Dongguan.
According to the organizing committee of the Expo, the number of countries attending the Expo has increased from 34 to 71. The exhibition area exceeds 70, 000 square meters， and the number of the stands exceeds 2800， which both are of 40% higher than last year. 978 enterprises from 50 foreign countries and regions from 5 continents signed up for the Expo. It is expected to attract 20 thousand professional buyers and 80 thousand public visitors this year.
The Expo has set up a Theme Pavilion focusing on cooperation and exchanges along MRT-Road and six Specialized Pavilions including tea, tourism, silk, food, ceramics and machinery.
At the Theme Pavilion are the food, agricultural products, specialties and tourism products from countries along the Maritime Silk Road.
