Representatives from 14 different countries and regions attend the 12th China (Yunfu) International Stone Materials Sci & Tech Fair, which was opened on Oct 18 in Yunfu, city of west Guangdong.
Official said the Fair attracted 161 oversea guests, mostly from Iran, Turkey, and Italy, the largest number since the annual event ever started.
Marlyn is a staff from Pursa Marble, a stone material company from Turkey. She told Newsgd.com that her company had come to Yunfu for the Fair for many times. She said she enjoyed the event and she was looking forward to the next year’s attendance.
Stone industry created over 30 billion RMB for the city in 2014, making the city an important stone market in both China and the world, said Ms. Pang Guomei, Party Secretary of Yunfu on the Fair.

According to Saturday’s press conference, Zhuo Zhiqiang, Mayor of Yunfu briefed the media that there were more than 4,000 stone material enterprises in the city, which recruited over 200,000 people. Yunfu possesses global leading technology of stone material production and processing.
“We still see potential opportunity of future development of Yunfu’s stone material industry.” Chen Guoqing, President of China Stone Material Association expressed his optimism over Yunfu’s stone industry development in spite of global economy’s slow recovery on Saturday. He said the key to the future of the industry is innovation and re-construction, seeking for products with high quality, and brands with renowned reputation.
Chen said China’s 7% predictive economic growth showed large potential export market, which was a chance for Yunfu to sell its products overseas. Furthermore, the improving infrastructure like the high-speed railway and the innovation on stone products provide a greater growth potential of Yunfu’s stone material industry.
