The 2015 Guangzhou International Shopping Festival will be held in the Grandview Mall from September 29 to October 28, along with the Sino-Australian Art Festival, highlighting Australian brands and animal exhibition.
In the shopping festival, there will be commodities of about 100 brands from Australia for citizens to purchase on selection, including red wine, health care products, milk, honey, beef and other meat products.
According to Xie Meng, chairman of Tianhe Road Chamber of Commerce, apart from shopping, there will also be an animal exhibition, culture exhibition, and service for original industrial design and cross-border e-commerce. The animal exhibition will feature rare animals from Australia as well, including black swan, Cacatuidae, emu, lizard and kangaroo. In the mean time, a miniature Sydney Opera House will be placed in the Mall to display 3D light show.
Since the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement was signed, tariff on imported commodities from Australia is lowered, and more and more imported products from Australia have been introduced to Guangdong, including agricultural and livestock products, health care products, and fashion products.
Besides, Australian enterprises and the cross-border online retailers in Nansha Area of Guangdong Free Trade Zone are going to have closer cooperation. It is reported that some Australian enterprises have settled down in Nansha Area and are engaged in cross-border e-commerce business. Many Australian enterprises even cooperate with local e-commerce platforms directly, such as JD.COM, YHD.COM, and TMALL.COM, importing Australian commodities through Guangzhou.
