Southern Airline announced yesterday that it will launch three new routes to Rome, Dubai and Christchurch by the end of this year.
The Guangzhou-based Southern Airline started Guangzhou--Nairobi route earlier this August. It said that the line together with Guangzhou-Rome and Guangzhou Dubai are to meet the “one belt one road” heat stimulated by the national “One belt one road” Initiative.
The initiative is said to boost the airline passenger flow by 30 percent at the first half of this year. According to incomplete statistics, in 2014, the passenger flow along “one belt one road” was almost 4.5 million. From January to May this year, the flights along silk road carried about 2.4 million passengers.
From the beginning of this year, the Southern Airline explored 96 airlines along the silk road, traveled around 34 counties and 52 areas. They increased 544 flights every week, and it was 12% more flights than last year.
Moreover, the Southern Airline would expand the airline in New Zealand. In the near future, the Chinese tourists can reach the popular resort, Christchurch directly from Guangzhou.
