The Award for New Media Entrepreneurship of China 2015 (Southeast) was handed out Thursday.
Ten experts, mainly Internet startup founders, shared experiences and insight about the mobile Internet market in Nanshan Digital Technology and Culture Industrial Park.
The discussions Thursday were geared toward key principles and strategies for startup businesses.
Zhang Wei, CEO of the Girlfriends app, cited Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi and Zhang’s investor, as saying that it is crucial to choose the right “runway.” The right “runway” means the budding market segment where user demand and possible capital flow are enormous.
“Innovation is what all the startups should really be concerned with,” said Kang Heng, COO of Unisound, a startup that specializes in sound recognition research and application. Kang said technology must meet users’ needs.
Other speakers talked about talent, tactics and the market value of a startup business.
The event followed a series of talks about media convergence by the Shenzhen Press Group.
