Guangzhou Tourism Bureau: Guangzhou tourists safe in Bangkok

On August 17, a bomb exploded at La Prasong junction at Bangkok’s busy shopping area. According to the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, till now the explosion has caused 22 deaths and 123 injuries. Including 2 Hong Kong citizens, 4 Chinese were confirmed dead in the calamity.

Guangzhou Tourism Bureau said, currently there are 350 Guangdong tourists in 20 tourist groups in Bangkok, and no injuries or casualties reported.

CGZL, one prominent travel agent in Guangdong, got in touch with their travel guides in Thai yesterday and learned that 29 tourists of a CGZL group has changed their hotel as they was to live in a Hyatt Hotel in that area.

The travel agent has canceled all visits to Phra Phrom near the explosion area. According to witnesses, Thai police have already cordoned off the area.
