At the foot of Lotus Mountain, about 30 kilometers away from Guangzhou downtown, there is a 6-storey white ceramic tile building. People maybe will just take it as one of small local factories without seeing the words “Guangzhou Panyu Lotus Glazed Porcelain Industrial Co., LTD” on the side.
In a glass showcase standing in the studio’s exhibition room, Western ice cream cup, Dali style coffee cup, and plates painted with aristocratic family crest jump out from numerous artworks around, which reminds us that this is the production place that exported numerous porcelains to Europe, North America, and even South America.
这些展品并不是主人从欧洲搜罗的收藏，而是真的“made in Guangzhou”，不少还是古董。
These pieces are not collections from Europe, but are real made-in-Guangzhou, many of which are even antiques.
"This is a ‘ding-shao-ci’ (customized ceramic) from the late Qing Dynasty." Chen Wenmin pulled out a plate with gold rim, painted with eagle and rose from surrounding glass cabinets.
