The third Shenzhen International Low-carbon City Forum will be held Wednesday and Thursday in Pingdi, Longgang District, event organizers announced Thursday.
Around 1,500 guests from 50 countries and regions will attend the forum. Wang Shi, chairman of Wanke, Wang Chuanfu, chairman and president of BYD Shareholding Co., and Ken Livingstone, ex-mayor of London, will be among the VIPs who will attend the forum.
"The forum will focus on the practice, experience and issues that domestic and international cities encounter when addressing climate change and trying to achieve low-carbon and green development. It is composed of a main forum, sub-forums and supporting activities," said Li Ganming, vice secretary general of the Shenzhen Municipal Government.
The main forum will focus on the Paris 2015 U.N. Climate Change Conference and the "Sino-U.S. Joint Statement on Climate Change." The annual event began in 2013.
