Officials from Guangdong and the Indian state of Gujarat on May 18 signed a series of cooperation agreements paving the way for increased cooperation in trade, infrastructure and education, Guangdong officials said.
Gujarat Chief Minister, Mrs. Meenaxi Patel along with a seven-member official delegation and 25-member business delegation met with business representatives of Guangdong during a conference that included the Guangdong Association of Logistics, Guangzhou Association of Automobile Manufactures and Guangdong South Pharmaceutical Company.
According to one Indian entrepreneur, Gujarat is known as “India’s Guangdong” because it is the leading industrialized region in India.
On September of 2014, Guangdong officials signed an agreement of Sister-Province relationship with Gujarat. The visit of the CM of Gujarat became the first high-level visit from India to Guangdong after the signing.
