Guangdong has sent two medical teams, with 38 doctors in total, to Equatorial Guinea and Ghana to assist the Ebola virus spread, according to the Guangdong Health and Family Planning Commission.
“Under safe conditions, they are helping western African countries combat Ebola," said a commission report.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) on August 26, more than 240 health care workers have contracted the Ebola virus in Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, and Sierra Leone and more than 120 have died.
Local health organizations say that goods and materials worth of RMB 300,000 have reached Africa. Recently, the Guangdong Health and Family Planning Commission sent new medical teams from Shenzhen and Zhanjiang to Africa.
