A celebration for the 209th Anniversary of the Independence of Mexico was held by the Consulate General of Mexico in Guangzhou on September 17th.
“China is Mexico’s second largest partner globally. In particular, bilateral trade with Guangdong Province surpassed 13.7 billion USD last year. ” According to Amb. Carlos Giralt Cabrales, Consul General of Mexico in Guangzhou, Guangdong and Mexico have both hosted successful promotional events, one example being the “Forum of Economic Cooperation and Investment between Mexico and China Guangdong 2019” held just a few months ago in Mexico city.
“As China advances in the development of its vision for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, Mexico aspires to have a presence and be a good partner to this important initiative,” said Mr. Cabrales.
“The friendly cooperation between Guangdong and Mexico has been all-around, in-depth and fruitful,” said, Zhang Hu, vice governor of Guangdong Province. “We hope Guangdong and Mexico can build on previous progress to promote exchange and cooperation through people-to-people interactions and consolidate the ties between the two sides.”
At present, Guangdong is working unremittingly toward advancing the Greater Bay Area and supporting Shenzhen in establishing the demonstration pilot zone for socialism with Chinese characteristics, delivering yet more cooperation opportunities for countries around the world, including Mexico.
