On February 6th, The Iran Consulate in Guangzhou held an official reception in Garden Hotel to celebrate Iranian National Day, the 39th Anniversary of the Victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
“Both China and Iran share profound history and rich culture. The friendship between us goes back to a long time ago when the silk road connected our two great nationalities together over 2000 years ago,” said Mr.Xu Ruisheng, Vice-Governor of Guangdong Province. “Distance can not separate the friends who feel so close to each other. Friendship between the people of two countries have become an important driving force of our bilateral relations. We have also seen the links between Guangdong and Iran strengthen.”
Xu also stressed that Guangdong is willing to work closely with Iran, especially the Iranian Consulate General in Guangzhou to maintain the sound momentum and to further extend our partnership to cultural exchanges, educational cooperation, tourism and sports.”.
Dr. Khalil Shirgholami , Consul General of Iran in Guangzhou, expressed his great compliment to the cooperation between Guangdong and Iran in the past year. “We are delighted to see the trading relationship between Guangdong and Iran was valued at RMB39.884 billion in 2017, with suggest an upward trend and a growth of 18.36% .”
Dr.Khalil Shirgholami also said that China is an important partner for Iran, and the Belt and Road Initiative(B&R) would certainly strengthen the bilateral relationship.
In the reception, the delicate and palatable Iran food also brought a great feast to the guests.
