Consulate General of India presented “Yugpurush- The Paly” stage drama to Guangdong people

The Consulate General of India in Guangzhou hosted a stage drama “Yugpurush- The Paly” in Guangzhou on 22 November 2017 at Grand View Theatre, Guangzhou, as part of the celebrations of 70 years of India's Independence.

Yugpurush-The Play is an internationally acclaimed heart-touching and riveting portrayal of the profound spiritual relationship between Shrimad Raichand Bhai and Mahatma Gandhi. The Play highlights the values of love, truth, diversity, selflessness and community building through the story of Mahatma Gandhi and Shrimad Rajchandraji. It also brings out a powerful experience of looking within oneself and upholding the value of truth for self-transformation. It aims to spread Shrimad Rajchandraji’s values of non-violence and truth that shaped Mahatma Gandhiji’s strong beliefs on non-violence.

The audience includes Guangdong provincial officials from Department of culture and Foreign Affairs office, consular corps including many Consul General, prominent Indians/NRIs, Chinese scholars, professors, and students from three universities (Shenzhen, GDUFS, Sun-Yat Sen and Jinan University) who appreciated the play.

The play was well received by all present at the auditorium and appreciated the efforts of Consulate for bringing such a wonderful play.
