And now, you don’t need to worry about these situations anymore for taking metro, as long as you have a cellphone.
First of all, you should make sure that you have these: UnionPay Card and NFC mobile phone. Then, follow these 5 steps:
1. Download Guangzhou Metro APP (search “广州地铁”)
2. Register an account (The app is all in Chinese.)
- Click the guideline of “云卡” and finish registration
- After registration, you can log in
- Activate NFC
3.Top-up your “云卡”
4.Bind your UnionPay Card
5. Go through ticket checking machine!
Tips for using “云卡”
1.This service only supports cellphone of version over Android 4.4.2.
2.This service can’t be used for taking APM Line so far.
3.iPhone cannot use this service so far.
Furthermore, it is said that passenger can use Alipay for taking metro in the future, but this service has not been launched at present.
