Green card gives green light to an easier life in GZ

Guangzhou has issued, as of March 15, 1,560 green cards to both domestic and overseas talented nonresidents in Guangzhou to encourage them to work in the city, according to statistics from local Human Resources and Social Security Bureau.

"Of 1,560 cards, 1,157 are primary, and 403 are secondary. Among the primary cards, 992 go to mainlanders, and 128 to expats with highly sought skills with 11.06 percent, and the rest were given to personnel from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan." The deputy Director Chen Min noted.

How can you BENEFIT from a green card?

The green card is meant to attract talents to Guangzhou, especially in innovative and entrepreneurial fields. It serves, in essence, as an official ID certificate, granting multiple conveniences to nonlocal personnel of high caliber who work in Guangzhou.

Exceptions! You don't have to wait for six months as long as you are one of the following talents.

Members of Chinese Academy of Engineering or Sciences

Anyone who won national awards or accreditation

Anyone who won Guangdong awards

Key members of key enterprises

High-caliber talents with Guangzhou accreditation

Leading talents with related core technology

Scholars from overseas famous high education institutions

Senior executives with the global 500 companies

Experts with high professional titles and over 10 years' working experience

Graduate or PhD students from top-notch universities

High-level technicians

Expats with highly sought skills

Talents from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan or overseas, with annual income of over 600,000 yuan and annual tax payment of over 120,000 yuan.

Personnel with special talents from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan or overseas

How to SIGN UP?

Qualified applicants can apply for green cards on the official site: (http://www.hrssgz.gov.cn/vsgzhr/login_rclk2.aspx) for free. While some intermediary organizations or agents may try to deceive applicants out of money by false advertisements.

The local authorities are urging qualified applicants to sign up directly on the government's official website rather than apply via a third party.
